Velonado on pieni kylä noin 30 km lounaaseen Rethymnosta. Mountrosin rotko päättyy tähän kylään.Vierailija voi tehdä rauhassa pysähdys yhden kylän perinteisistä kahviloista nauttien kahvia tai juoda ja maistaen "Rakia," joka on saaren perinteinen juoma.
.Lokakuun ja marraskuun aikana "Raki" tislautuu "Rakokázano"-pataan.Sitten on juhlan aika ja kaikki kutsutaan syömään ja juomaan anteliaiden ja vieraanvaraisten kyläläisten kanssa.
Toinen juhlan motiivi on 14. elokuuta tapahtuva riemu.

Kollita Gorges
These gorges are ideal for inexperienced walkers and groups.
Both are part of the E4 European trail.
Velonado is a small village about 30km southwest from Rethymno. The verdant gorge of Mountros ends at this village.
The visitor can make a leisurely stop at one of the traditional cafés of the village enjoying his coffee or drink and taste "Raki", the traditional drink of the island.
During the months of October and November the distillation of "Raki"takes place inside a cauldron known as "Rakokázano". Then, it's a time for celebration and everybody is invited to eat and drink with the generous and hospitable villagers.
Another motive for celebration is the revelry taking place on August 14.

It is worth visiting Filippou cave with its stalagmites.

The second one, Kato Poros Gorge, starts before Villandredo and through the village of Kato Poros ends at the Tombs of the Five Virgins in Ancient Lapa before Argyroupoli.
It is almost always in the shade and rich wildflowers and rock overhangs. From there a stone path leads to Argyroupoli.
