La gola verdeggiante di Mountros termina in questo villaggio.Il visitatore può fare una sosta piacevole in uno dei caffè tradizionali del villaggio godendo il suo caffè o bere e gustare "Raki", la bevanda tradizionale dell'isola.
.Nei mesi di ottobre e novembre la distillazione di "Raki" si colloca all'interno di un calderone noto come "Rakokázano".Poi, è un momento di festa e tutti sono invitati a mangiare e bere con i generosi e ospitali abitanti del villaggio.
Un altro motivo per festeggiare è la festa che si svolge il 14 agosto.

Kollita Gorges
These gorges are ideal for inexperienced walkers and groups.
Both are part of the E4 European trail.
Velonado is a small village about 30km southwest from Rethymno. The verdant gorge of Mountros ends at this village.
The visitor can make a leisurely stop at one of the traditional cafés of the village enjoying his coffee or drink and taste "Raki", the traditional drink of the island.
During the months of October and November the distillation of "Raki"takes place inside a cauldron known as "Rakokázano". Then, it's a time for celebration and everybody is invited to eat and drink with the generous and hospitable villagers.
Another motive for celebration is the revelry taking place on August 14.
