As the beautiful Cretan autumn sets in, Rethymno celebrates the unifying power of music and female creativity! On Wednesday, September 30th, the majestic Erofili Theatre inside the Venetian Fortezza will host "The Maestrinas of Rethymno." This special event brings together three of the city’s most prominent choirs for a collaborative performance that proves music truly unites people and cultures. Under the passionate direction of three talented female conductors—Eleni Perpiraki, Isidora Chalkiadaki, and Mariella Vitorou—dozens of singers will share the stage. The Choirs is Rettimo Cantus (Mixed Choir of the Fine Arts Association), The Municipal Choir of Rethymno and UOC Chorus (Mixed Choir of the University of Crete) Accompanied by beautiful live instrumentation (piano, accordion, and violin), the choirs will perform a rich and uplifting journey through beloved folk, traditional, and modern art songs from both Greek and international repertoires. The audience is highly encouraged to join in and sing along!
