Vrijdag, 07/08, 19:00, Platanes Beach De opening van een zeeschildpad Nest wordt altijd gedaan na een bepaald aantal dagen, zodra alle baby zeeschildpadden zijn geïncubeerd. Op deze manier registreert ARCHELON het percentage incubatiesucces, namelijk hoeveel babyzeeschildpadden met succes het water binnenkwamen, hoeveel er niet geïncubeerd waren, en waarom. Soms, in het nest, zijn er verlate baby zeeschildpadden die zorgvuldig worden bevrijd door ARCHELON vrijwilligers en geleid naar het water, die de publieke waarnemers winden tijdens de opgraving. Turtle public excavations
Friday, 07/08, 19:00, Platanes Beach “Public excavation” refers to the opening of every nest, which is conducted by trained volunteers of ARCHELON, with the audience invited to attend the event. The opening of a Sea Turtle Nest is always done after a set number of days, once all the baby sea turtles have incubated. In this way, ARCHELON records the percentage of incubation success, namely, how many baby sea turtles successfully entered the water, how many were not incubated, and the reasons for this. Sometimes, in the nest, there are belated baby sea turtles that are carefully set free by ARCHELON volunteers and guided toward the water, which excites the public observers during the excavation.
