Plage de Palakias Accès aux magnifiques gorges de Kootsifou ou Kourtaliotiko, le village de Plakias est situé vers le centre d'une grande baie sur la côte sud de Rethymno, son enfermé dans les bras des montagnes. A l'origine un village de pêcheurs très petit et calme, il offre maintenant une gamme d'hôtels, de tavernes, de cafés et de boutiques. La beauté naturelle de l'endroit a aidé Plakias à devenir une station touristique de renom maintenant fournir toutes les installations qu'un visiteur pourrait souhaiter. Il appartient à la municipalité d'Agios Vassilios. Pour ceux qui souhaitent explorer plus loin, il existe des livres décrivant la gamme de promenades locales. Plakias fait un bon point de départ pour des promenades le long de la côte à la plage de Souda, Damnonibeach ou Amoudibeach ou jusqu'aux collines environnantes vers d'autres villages comme Sellia ou Mirthios, qui donnent une vue spectaculaire sur la mer. Vous pouvez également prendre le bateau à la plage Preveli.

Plakias beach Accessed by the magnificent Kotsifou or Kourtaliotiko Gorges, the village of Plakias is set towards the centre of a large bay on the southern coast of Rethymno, its enclosed within the arms of mountains. Originally a very small and quiet fishing village, it now offers a range of hotels, tavernas, cafes and shops. The natural beauty of the place helped Plakias to become a renowned tourist resort now providing all the facilities that a visitor could wish. It belongs to the municipality of Agios Vassilios. For those wishing to explore further afield, there are books available describing the range of local walks. Plakias makes a good starting point for walks along the coast to Souda beach, Damnonibeach or Amoudibeach or up into the encircling hills to other villages such as Sellia or Mirthios, which give spectacular views out to sea. You can also take the boat to Preveli beach.
