Free Electric Bus Service Now Connects Koubes Parking to the City Center
Rethymno is getting greener and more accessible!
The Municipality of Rethymno, in collaboration with K.T.E.L., has officially launched a new, eco-friendly shuttle service designed to make visiting the city center easier than ever for both residents and visitors.
Why use the new Electric Bus service?
Zero Cost: Both the parking at Fragaki Site and the bus transfer are completely free.
Eco-Friendly: The service uses 100% electric buses, reducing CO2 emissions and noise pollution.
Stress-Free: Avoid traffic congestion and the search for parking in the narrow streets of the center.
High Frequency: No long waits—buses depart every 15 minutes.
The Route & Stops
The service follows a convenient circular route, starting and ending at the large parking area at the western entrance of the city.
Departure & Return Point:
FRAGAKI SITE (KOUBES): Park your vehicle in the designated free parking area.
The Bus Stops:
Stop 1: ST. CONSTANTINE CHURCH (Access Fotrezza and western coastal front).
Stop 2: MUNICIPAL GARDEN (Find the Info Points. The gateway to the Old Town and the central shopping district and the Venetian Harbor).
Stop 3: CHATZIMICHALI GIANNARI (Perfect for reaching thenew part of Rethymno city).
Stop 4: K.T.E.L. - Central Bus Station (Connecting you to the main regional bus hub).
The bus then completes the loop back to the Fragaki Site (Koubes) for your return journey.
Operating Hours & Frequency
To ensure you can enjoy Rethymno from morning until late at night, the service operates with high reliability:
Days: Daily (Monday – Sunday)
Hours: 07:30 to 23:00
Frequency: Every 15 minutes
